Schnebly Winery. Homestead, Fl
Tucked away in a historic, unincorporated community in Miami is an area called “the Redlands”. In this rural area you’ll find one of the most unique hidden gems in South Florida- Schnebly Winery.
We drove approximately an hour and a half from Palm Beach County to experience this hidden oasis. As we got closer, we felt as if we were in a different part of the world. The entry-way was grand with a bar in the center situated on wine barrels. The staff was warm and inviting. The place was exciting, yet serene at the same time.
We opted for the Groupon wine tour and tasting which started off with a tour of the tremendous property. There were Tiki Huts, coral rock waterfalls, coy fish ponds and frankly so many beautiful aesthetics to take in. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We walked on the stilted boardwalk to the back of the winery where he explained how their fruit wines were made. Some of their speciality wines included-avocado, coconut and lychee.
Next part of the tour was the tasting! We sampled 5 different wines each from a large array of choices. We chose some of the favorites and WOW were they refreshing and light.
To finish off our evening, we strolled over to the restaurant which was quite large and under a tremendous Tiki hut. We ordered the pork chop and the bang bang shrimp. Both of which were absolutely delicious.
The property also contains a brewery with a bar and venue that hosts different events. The property also has an airbnb. Perfect for a destination wedding or special event.
This experience was truly unforgettable and I highly recommend Schnebly’s Winery. It’s truly one of the few hidden gems left in South Florida.
